The TEACHING IS IMAGINATIVE AND CREATIVE. DEDICATED TEACHERS CREATE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES WITH AN ATMOSPHERE OF WARMTH AND ENCOURAGEMENT.

Garden House Kindergarten offers full-day School, giving families the flexibility to choose every day, Monday - Thursday, or a mix of days and half days to suit their child and their own circumstances. This is a unique offering, tailoring each child’s early education to their character and disposition in a warm and nurturing environment.
The large, bright classroom allows children to pursue the Early Years’ Foundation Stage Curriculum encompassing the seven areas of learning with focus on Literacy and Mathematics.  A separate, quiet room with an interactive whiteboard is used for group activities and Art Appreciation.
The Kindergarten provides a safe, inspiring environment in which to start school.  Each child is able to grow in confidence and independence at a pace which suits them.

Being part of a prep school enables our Kindergarten children to use the wonderful facilities and to be taught by skilled, specialist teachers.

It provides a smooth transition into Reception (Preparatory).

The Garden House preparatory (reception) year is particularly important in laying strong foundations of learning

Preparatory is based in the main school building at Turks Row. The children begin Preparatory during the year in which they turn five.

The children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum with a focus on their individual needs and abilities. In the first term, we help them to be more independent and to settle into school.

There is a high teacher/pupil ratio and children learn through a balance of adult focused and
child-initiated learning and play.

We aim to foster a love of learning in a caring and stimulating environment.

The children’s interests are at the heart of all we do.

Boys and girls are taught separately and have many opportunities to come together, such as playtime, Early Years mornings and Independent Learning activities.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Features of Preparatory include:

Forest school
Outside play area
Outdoor learning area
High teacher/pupil ratio
