After leaving Garden House, our girls and boys move on to some of the country's leading schools, equipped with the strongest possible foundations for future success. We work closely with families throughout every stage of the process, providing expert guidance and support to help identify the most suitable pathway for each child. From the first conversations about senior school destinations to securing offers and preparing for the next step, we are here to support both you and your child as you navigate the many opportunities available within the British independent school system.
Most children leave Garden House at the end of Year 6, aged 11, progressing either directly to their senior school—particularly those moving to day schools and girls' boarding schools—or to the junior departments of senior schools. Others move to preparatory schools before joining a senior school at age 13. The tables below show the schools our pupils have joined directly after leaving Garden House over the past five years. After leaving Garden House, our girls and boys move on equipped with confidence, spirit and the strongest possible foundations for future success.
Many of our children, particularly boys, continue on to one of the traditional boarding schools at 13. Importantly, all pupils who leave Garden House at 11 will have already secured their places at these schools before departing. They have the opportunity to spend two years at a preparatory school before joining a public school, providing valuable opportunities to experience boarding and develop independence in preparation for public school life—an experience that families consistently value highly. The most popular destinations include Eton College, which is the eventual destination for around a quarter of our boys, as well as schools like Harrow, Marlborough, Winchester and Wellington College.
