Most children join Garden House in the September after they reach four years of age, joining our Reception classes (4+). Children can also join us when they are three years old, joining our Kindergarten (3+) and there is a small intake of boys at 8 years of age (8+).

As a first step we encourage you to come and visit the school on one of our Open Mornings.  These take place during term time on most Tuesdays (Boys’ School) and Wednesdays (Girls’ School).

The Open Mornings give prospective parents the opportunity to see the School in action on a normal school day and to meet the Heads.

Should you wish to arrange a place on an Open Morning, please telephone either the Boys’ School Office on +44 (0)20 7730 6652 or the Girls’ School Office on +44 (0)20 7730 1652.

If you would like to receive an Application Form and School Prospectus, please fill in the Request Form below and these will be sent to you. Alternatively, you can collect these from the School in person.

The Application Form should only be returned after your child has been born.  The completed Application Form should be returned to the school along with the application fee (currently £120).  Once received, we will send you an acknowledgement confirming your child’s name has been placed on the relevant waiting list.

If you do not receive an acknowledgment, please contact the School in order to ensure that your child has been placed on the waiting list.

We recommend returning a completed Application Form within a year of birth in order to ensure a place for your child on our waiting list.

Once you have received confirmation that your child is on the waiting list, you are unlikely to hear from the School again until approximately one year before your child’s designated year of entry.

At this point our Registrar, Mrs Sophie Strafford will contact you regarding the assessments. Parents who have applied for 3+ or the Boys’ 4+ are written to, inviting them to bring their child in for an assessment in the October or November prior to child’s designated year of entry.  Parents who have applied for Girls’ 4+ are written to in the October/November before their child would start and their assessments take place the following January.

Parents are expected to have attended an Open Morning before their child comes for assessment.

Offers of places at Garden House will be made after the assessments have taken place.

Garden House operates a sibling policy, giving priority to girls and boys who have siblings already in the School.

Occasionally places become available on an ad hoc basis for children further up the School. Please contact our Registrar, Sophie Strafford by email or by telephone on +44 (0)20 7730 1652.
